“BJP-GJMM pact a marriage of convenience”

Sharpening knife against the BJP-GJMM alliance, the Darjeeling district DYFI today termed the tie-up as a marriage of convenience between the “communal BJP and the separatist GJMM.” “The alliance would bite the dust, for rabid opportunism never pays,” said the Darjeeling district DYFI secretary, Mr Shankar Ghosh, today.

“The mischievous combine, if successful, would damage the fragile political stability in the sensitive region known for its geo-political importance,” he warned.
Sounding optimistic on the prospect of substantially eating into the hill votes, the CPI-M youth wing leader said that a surprise was in store in this election. “Reduced to economic penury due to the obstructionist GJMM politics, the common people would deal a body blow to the electoral aspirations of the self complacent BJP-GJMM combine.
