Sikkim News: Gangtok (PTI): Adopting a cautious approach, the Congress has fielded susbtitute candidates in all 32 assembly and lone Lok Sabha constituencies in Sikkim to ensure that there would be at least one candidate from the main opposition party in the fray even in the event of rejection of nomination of any of its nominees.
The decision to field substitute candidates in all assembly and parliamentary constituencies was taken under an elaborate strategic planning to ensure that the ruling Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) of the reigning Chief Minister Pawan Kumar Chamling does not not get a walk over in any of the seats in the case of rejection of nominations of the Congress candidates, party sources said here.
