Darjeeling, Nov. 4: The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha will organise rallies across the hills and the plains on Friday to mark the end of its month-long “cultural movement”.

“The cultural movement had started to show Bengal that we are different from them. Since the movement will end on November 7, the Morcha has decided to bring out rallies in Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Kurseong, Siliguri and the Dooars on that day,” said Roshan Giri, the general secretary of the party.

The Morcha reiterated that Madan Tamang, the ABGL president, must furnish proof of the alleged “secret meeting” between its leaders and state home secretary Asok Mohan Chakrabarti at Tadkha on October 11. “We want Tamang to either prove his allegation against our party by November 7 or else quit politics,” Giri said.
