Thanks to some heavy snowfall last week, the state government’s bid to promote adventure tourism began with a 15-day capacity building course for the educated unemployed youth at Yumthang in North Sikkim on Monday.
The lack of snowfall this winter had been thwarting tourism stakeholder in the area from introducing alpine skiing there. The training is being jointly organised by the Sikkim Mountaineering Association and Blue Sky Tours and Travels and is being aided by the state tourism department.
