Sikkim Seventh Assembly session concludes

The Vote of Accounts of Rs. 158662.02 lakhs for meeting the government expenditure for six months starting from April introduced yesterday by Chief Minister Pawan Chamling yesterday was passed today the Sikkim Assembly today.

Commenting on the Vote of Accounts, the Chief Minister said that the amount passed by the Assembly today was to ensure that the works for the people continue undisturbed till the new government presents a regular budget after the forthcoming election.

“We have allocated funds for the continuation of the people centric works and schemes”, said Mr. Chamling. He added that the government wants the BPL people in Sikkim to be uplifted and a 100 percent literacy rate in Sikkim is accomplished in the next five years. MORE...
