The Sikkim state government has identified development based on natural resources, sustainable programmes, promotion of eco-tourism, hospitality service, hydro power generation, health, education and eco friendly clean industrial sectors as the priority sectors in the state. Assuring this in a meeting with the deputy chairman, Planning Commission Dr Montek Singh Ahluwalia in New Delhi yesterday, the chief minister of Sikkim Mr Pawan Chamling, said: “The state government would rectify all the shortcomings in respective spheres in the state and implement the Planning Commission suggestions in Sikkim in the interest of the people.” MORE...
