Siliguri Dec. 22: Gorkha Janmukti Morcha leader Bimal Gurung today said the Sixth Schedule status would bring "bloodshed" in the hills.
"Khoon kharaba hoga... danga fasad (There would be bloodshed and riots)," Gurung said at Bagdogra airport on his return from Delhi where he went to attend a Parliament select committee hearing on the Sixth Schedule bill.
"People in the hills do not want the Sixth Schedule status," Gurung said. "We want nothing short of Gorkhaland. And if they force the Sixth Schedule status on the people, there will be tension again."
GNLF chief Subash Ghisingh skipped the hearing, saying he had already written to the committee apprising it of his party's support for the bill.
Gurung said the committee would visit Darjeeling so on. "We'll show the reality to them."
The Morcha leader who met BJP leader L.K. Advani in Delhi, said: "The CPM has destroyed the hills and there is no reason why we should enter into a dialogue with it."
Ghisingh, he said, "has sold the Gorkhaland agitation to the state government".
At a gathering at Chowkbazar in Darjeeling, Gurung promised a Gorkhaland state by March 2010. "It is a Promise," he said.

oh its a godly promise to give gorkhaland by march 2010. doesn't the promise sound hollow and said irresponsibly? How can he be sure and who the hell can promise a gorkhaland state within a time frame? if people believe this then they are simply idiots and nothing else. Is Bimal Gurung ruling India or is in the ruling government. Or has L.K. Advani promised? Well, if it is then let the BJP first form the government which is not sure.
And look at the Gandhi man, Bimal Gurung, talking of violence/bloodshed if Sixth Schedule is given. Suppose Gorkhaland takes 2 years, 3 years or 10 years, will they not allow any formation of government for such a duration. The economy will topple and we will be back to the grazing days.

i am obviously a Gorkhaland lover, but yes, such irresponsible comment can bring the whole castle down like the house of cards. even the president or the prime minister cannot commit to such promises. I really don't know if its Bimal gurung's idiotic compulsion to utter such baseless promise or is being another ghisingh trusting someone else's promises. Ghising trusting buddha and bimal trusting advani. ghising's win is quite possible here compared to advani propaganda. advani has to form his BJP govt. first and then get an NOC from the Bengal govt. Do you think the Bengal will give up so easily?
