Gangtok, Sikkim January 16: Recapping its primary commitment towards ‘restoration of Sikkim’s merger conditions as enshrined in the Constitution’, Sikkim Nationalist Peoples Party today sneaked in its cards over the ‘dual citizenship’ row to call ‘a dawn to dusk Sikkim bandh on January 26’.

SNPP today calls for an all Sikkim bandh for 12 hours starting from 6 am and ending on 6 pm and will raise black flags all over the Sikkim with national flags, said the party president Biraj Adikhari in a press meet here at Gangtok. The national flag shall signify the Sikkimese people’s commitment towards democratic of the Union and the black flag shall demonstrate the resentment of the Sikkimese people to the blatant violations in the terms of association of 1973 as enshrined in the Constitution, he said adding that January 26 was the most appropriate day to sent a strong message to the Centre.
