Siliguri, Apr 5 (PTI) The Gorkha National Liberation Front today said it will mobilise public opinion against the 'Taliban' rules of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha and pledged its resolve for a Gorkhaland state.
GNLF, which celebrated its foundation day today, renewed its statehood demand for Gorkhaland state.
GNLF would no longer demand Sixth schedule nor accept any interim settlement as suggested by the GJM, Dawa Pakhrin, party's Kalimpong unit chief, said in his address at Panighata in the foothills of Darjeeling, about 35 km from here.
"From today onwards, we will not settle for anything less than the statehood," Pakhrin said.
He said GNLF would now start mobilising public opinion against the 'Taliban' rules of GJM in the hills and regain its lost ground.
