Morcha trip to coax panel

Darjeeling, Feb. 3: The Gorkha Janmukti Morcha today sent a delegation to Delhi following indications that the Standing Committee on Home Affairs has cancelled its trip to Darjeeling.

Bimal Gurung’s party has threatened an agitation if nothing positive works out by Tuesday.

“A team led by Roshan Giri, the general secretary of the party, has already left for the capital to apprise the committee members of the need to visit the hill town. The party will announce a fresh agitation programme in protest if nothing matures by February 5,” said Binay Tamang, the spokesperson for the Morcha.

In fact, the announcement of the programme is expected to be made at Risheehat tea garden, 23km from here, at a public meeting the same day.

The parliamentary panel, which is currently going through the constitutional amendment bill to grant Sixth Schedule status to the hills, was expected in Darjeeling on a three-day visit starting February 6.

However, opposition parties here have claimed that the visit has been cancelled because of a conspiracy of the Bengal government, which has cited law and order problem. The chief secretary of Bengal, Amit Kiran Deb, on the other hand, had said the visit is on schedule. State general secretary of the BJP Rahul Sinha said Sushma Swaraj, the chairperson of the committee, would not be visiting Darjeeling since she was down with fever. Sinha, however, had not commented on the plans of the other members of the panel.

G.S. Yonzone, the president of the BJP (hill unit), today claimed that the visit has been cancelled. “I have also learnt that the state government has cited law and order problem and hence the committee is not coming to Darjeeling,” he said.

The Opposition parties have alleged that the state government is working on the behest of Subash Ghisingh, who wants the Sixth Schedule bill to be passed at the earliest.

Ever since the Morcha, followed by the Akhil Bharatiya Gorkha League, claimed that the panel had cancelled its tour, opposition parties have been bringing out rallies in town in protest. In fact, hundreds of women belonging to the Gorkha Janmukti Nari Morcha today brought out a rally demanding the rejection of the Sixth Schedule status.

where is the news about Bimal Gurung being responsible for 2 YOUNG FEMALES GETTING PREGNANT from his very village Tukvar? I found that none of the papers have mentioned it. All are shit correspondents and they don't want to talk about this. Its a shame on us that we have chosen such a leader who can't even control his ejaculation and forget about his thoughts.

Media wake up. You know its the truth, a panchayat was called and the matter settled. Its very unjust to the victims. I know their mouths will be shut focussing on the greater cause, the capture of lal kothi.

heard his wife went against him and that is quite natural. lets have fun now, the leader who promised to bring gorkhaland before march 8 is already staggering. dont forget his promise people. now he is fighting hard to win the sixth schedule elections if it happens so.

After this kind of such low lying attitude, Fuck Bimal gurung n the rest of his party. may they rot in hell. we will not let our women folk be unsecure.

Even before attaining something, he should his acts, just imagine what will happen if he is in the top most level.
