Darjeeling witnessed the season's first snowfall at Sandakphu and Phalut at an altitude of 12,000 feet near Singalila National Park on Saturday morning, officials said.
The snowfall started at 4.30 am and the deposition was more than three inches, they said.
With heavy rainfall in the entire region, Darjeeling and Kurseong town were reeling under severe cold, they added.
