The Army on Friday denied any movement of troops to Nathu La in Sikkim, the tri-junction of India, Bhutan and China, and reiterated that there had been no Chinese incursions into Indian territory.
Clarifying reports on deployment of 6,000 troops in the area, senior officials said there had been no relocation of soldiers in the region in the last one year.
"Last troop movement from J&K to Sikkim was a year ago and that was primarily because the situation had improved in the trouble-torn state and troops were moved back to their formation," an official said.
There had been certain attempts by Chinese troops to remove bunkers in Bhutan but they had never crossed into Indian territory.
