Gangtok, Sikkim : A lavish dinner with a glass of wine and singers at your table to perform your favourite numbers — you can enjoy all this at the only five-star hotel in town on Christmas and New Year’s Eve without burning a hole in your pocket.
Royal Plaza at Shyari here already adorns a festive look with the hotel lobby, restaurant and the bar decorated with beautifully lit Christmas trees and a model reindeer and Christmas carols playing softly in the background.
“We are expecting around 100 couples on both Christmas and New Year’s eve and the response from regular customers has been fairly good,” said Pankaj Saxena, the general manager of Royal Plaza. “
On Christmas Eve, there will be a candle-lit dinner at Orchids, the restaurant. The lavish spread comes at Rs 450 per person and includes a complimentary glass of wine. Lucky diners will be presented with surprise gift hampers, including free stays at other hotels of the Park Sarovar Plaza group across India.
The spread will cover Indian, Chinese and Continental cuisine. Executive chef Rakesh Kumar Bagchi said the Italian specialities will be the ones to watch out for. The other attractions will be the salads — Russian, Hawaiian and Mexican to name a few — and last but not least, the cakes and puddings.
On New Year’s Eve, couples will have to pay an entry fee of Rs 600, which will include complimentary drinks and snacks. The buffet spread will cost Rs 500 per person. Aura, the bar, will serve one complimentary drink with every two drinks bought.
X’Cape buzz
At X’Cape, Gangtok’s hottest night-club, the party begins from tonight. There will be lots of surprise gifts as well as prizes for various competitions, said X’Cape proprietor Pema Ladakhi.
